The project, conceived and conducted by Pejman Tadayon, was born to spread Oriental music in Italy and bring the listener closer to the sounds and rhythms of Persian culture. The Orchestra Persiana uses traditional instruments, such as târ and setâr, drawing on the classical repertoires of the different regions of Iran. The Persepolis Choir – from the Greek name of the ancient capital founded under the reign of Darius – performs traditional and popolar songs in the original language.
During the show Pejman Tadayon guides the listener through the distinctive features of Persian music, describing the characteristics and use of the various instruments, the peculiarities of the rhythmic and harmonic structures, the genesis and meaning of the various songs.
